Team captain Paul Pierce may have finally appeared in a game Monday for the Boston Celtics and delivered 21 points and eight rebounds in the team's defeat of the Washington Wizards, but that doesn't mean his heel is fully healthy just yet.
CSN New England reports that Pierce says his heel is only at 80 percent at this point. "I still have to get my treatment," he said, according to the site. "There's still some bruising in the foot. I have to wear a lot of padding in my shoes. It's coming along, but I'm feeling more confident I think. I'm not even thinking about it, and that's the good part."
The 34-year-old, nine-time All-Star averaged 18.9 points and six rebounds per game last season.
